Spontaneous weekend trips become logistical puzzles. Staying late after drinks requires arranging someone to feed her. The freedom to just go, without a second thought, quietly disappeared. Sleep Will Never Be the Same<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
She does not care that you have an important meeting tomorrow. She does not care that it is 4am. What she cares about is that your feet are moving under the duvet and that this constitutes a threat that must be attacked immediately. Light sleepers, consider yourselves warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Guilt of Leaving<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Even a weekend away comes with a low hum of guilt. You know logically that she will be fine. You’ve arranged everything. And yet. There is a specific kind of cat owner guilt that follows you on holiday and has you checking in with the cat-sitter three times a day. It’s irrational, it’s real, and it never fully goes away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
